How much room do I need to for my Amazonas Hammock?

Posting date: 7th August 2007 10:05

Many customers ask this question and it is a very sensible one!

Please follow these general guidelines:

FOR STANDARD HAMMOCKS (WITHOUT SPREADER BARS)

  • The distance between the 2 fixing points should be at least 90% of the length of the hammock
  • The height of the fixing points should be at least 40% of the length of the hammock

The heavier the weight you are intending to put in the hammock, then of course the lower the hammock with sink down

If you have a very large space then you use extra ropes etc in order to hang it

FOR HAMMOCKS WITH SPREADER BARS

The rule of thumb guidelines are slightly different for these:

  • Distance between the 2 fixing points should be 120% of the total hammock length
  • Height of the fixing points should be at least 25% of the length of the hammock
