Fitting a Sidepost Parasol Deckmount

Q I am 5 floors up in a penthouse and need some shade that can be secured to a floating deck. Could you help?
A Further to our discussion, attached is the Paraflex parasol brochure. My initial view is that a Paraflex sidepost parasol , with 2 long arms, and 2 canopies hanging from it (1.9m square probably but could be 2.2m or 2.7m hexagonal), fixed to the ground with a deckmount base is the best option.

An extra sized flat base to go with the parasol deckmount would spread the load across several of your floating deck planks, rather than just onto one plank. I have managed to locate some stock from Paraflex of an old style of mobile base that they did which has now been replaced. Please look at p14 of the attached. the "Pedestal base" would work in the way we described. The triangle base, bolted down to the flat square one and then the square one bolted down to the deck to spread the load. I believe you would need to drill the holes in the corners of the flat square base, but that shouldn't cause you a problem?
