Hello, I like the look of the Tradewind range. Do you have any further information or photo's? Would such a heavy base be needed if the parasol was going in a table? What guarantee would come with these parasols? Regards, Daisy
Dear Daisy,
Thank you for your email on the 23rd regarding the Tradewinds parasols.
In answer to your question regarding the base, each Tradewinds parasol has an option of 2 mobile bases, the lighter one for use with a table and the heavier for stand alone use. If you look at each size of parasol, the recommended base weights are set out beneath the price on the parasol. The only time when you may want to use the heavier base when the parasol is through a table, is if you are in a particularly windy location.
When using the parasols through a table, please also check the following:
- 1. The height of your table - this must be lower than the "closed clearance" of the parasol which is listed on the site - ie the distance between the bottom of the closed struts and the ground. Otherwise the parasol will not close properly over the table.
- 2. The diameter of the hole in your table - this must be at least as big as the pole diameter of the parasol which is also listed in a table with each product detail.
In terms of a warranty, the Tradewinds parasols offer a two year warranty on the frames and struts (the attached says 1 year but this has been extended to 2). The canopies differ per model. The Classic has a two year warranty on the canopy and and Mistral has a one year warranty on the canopy. Please note that as with all parasol manufacturers, warranties exclude wind damage. The Tradewinds are strong and will withstand a medium wind, but as with any parasol you will be expected to "wind manage" them - ie close a parasol when you are not there, and also when the wind is getting too high for it. If you do get some accidental damage, the good news is that Tradewinds frames come with replaceable components so if you get a broken strut, you can replace a broken strut.
