Should I expect a drop from pole to end of arm on a Paraflex King Arm?
Posting date: 1st October 2010 00:00
The answer is yes, there will be a slight drop from one end of the 2.35m arm to the other. This is more pronounced on a Paraflex king size arm, compared to a long arm as there is an extra hinge. However, the drop from Paraflex pole to end of arm should not be more than about 10%. If you are getting more than this, then check that the fixing end - ie the wall mount or the pole - is absolutely level. Any angle on the pole or wallmount could cause a greater drop in the arm level. If you wall is not level, for example, you can get it level by using extra washers behind the bolts. I would suggest using a spirit level at each point in the structure - ground, wall, pole, arm, according to circumstance. If you are still getting a problem then there is something wrong with the set up of the arm. At each hinge the serrated edge needs to be level before tightening. It is easiest to do with 2 people, one holding up the other end, so the pressure is off.
Let me know if you still have more problems - Claire
