Can you let me know what is the shortest diameter is on your Paraflex hexagonal parasols?

Posting date: 28th September 2010 21:19

Hi, round parasols (which are usually hexagonal or octagonal, depending on how many struts they have) are traditionally measured by the diameter from one end of strut to the opposite end of the strut.

Paraflex parasols are hexagonal and are measured in the traditional way. A 2.7m paraflex is measured from end of strut to end of strut. The shortest diameter - ie from the mid point on the fabric between the struts, to the opposite point - is 2.2m in diameter. On the 2.2m paraflex, the shortest diameter is 1.8m.

This is a good question as lots of people don't allow for the reduction in the diameter when calculating the size of parasol they are going to buy.
