Shade Q&A

Do you have Rectangular Ingenua Shade sails?

Question:
I am interested in your Ingenua Shade sails as a solution to my shading my patio.
Please find attached photographs of my patio as discussed. The floor tiles are 400mm x 400mm which will give you some indication of the scale. The folding door measurements are 5000mm wide x 2050mm high. The distance from the top of the frame to the overhanging zinc roof is 650mm.The table itself has a 1800mm diameter, obviously with chairs the diameter becomes nearer 2500mm. The patio extends out from the house by a touch over 6000mm.
Ideally the cover will join to the house underneath the overhang (but above the speakers), slightly overlap above the gutter you see to the right and extend out as far as possible. It may be an idea to tilt it slightly towards the right so that any rain water is directed into the gutter.
Answer:
Further to our conversation this morning, I attach some instructions of fitting rectangular shade sails, and combination sails. We discussed using two 3 x 5m Ingenua Shadesails, overlapping in the middle and tilting from top to bottom to get run off away from the table. The short ends would be fixed to the wall above and beyond your doors. The other ends by poles fixed to the patio. I think, looking at it again, that you are going to need 4 posts rather than 3 at the furthest end of the patio because of the angle of the rope required when having the sails positioned side by side. But I am still awaiting confirmation of this from the guys in the warehouse that have done a lot of installations to make sure I am giving you the right advice. I will confirm as soon as I hear.
Regarding stock, as the Rectangular sails are such a new line, they are currently ordered from Ingenua in Belgium on delivery approximately 2 weeks from order. You could always have the deckmounts or inground fixings delivered early if you wanted to do the preparatory work in advance.
Answer 2:
The warehouse did more than confirm the number of poles you needed - they prepared an image of the overlapping rectangles which is attached. I think you wanted the shade sails short side to the house, but the principle is the same - you are going to need 2 poles at the centre where the sails overlap. So 4 poles, 4 inground fittings/deckmounts to fit them to and 4 wall mounts - plus the sails of course.
Best wishes - Claire
