How does the tilt work on a Paraflex parasol?

The Paraflex parasol has a 30 degree tilt. The tilt works up and down, forwards from the end of the parasol. It does not work side to side. However, the hinged arm allows you to move the direction of the parasol to face the sun, and then the tilt will work to shade you at the right angle.
