Shade Q&A
Thoughts on patio and poolside living. A blog by Claire - The Patio Umbrella
Can you let me have the following info on the Scolaro Braccio side post parasols?
Posting date: 9th April 2010 11:56
I am interested in this parasol: Scolaro Firenze Braccio Rectangle Side Post Parasol.
However, I need to clarify a few points in order to ascertain its suitability.
- 1) The rectagular 3x4 meters. Which way round does it go, or can it be either?
- 2) The height is crucial to me as it needs to clear a patio door. This affects my preparation for the base. Can you explain or send pics of how the parasol is attached to the ground? I may need to raise my lawn level slightly, to the decking height to allow enough clearance for the patio doors
- 3) Special order black or blue examples. Are these the same price? 4) What is the delivery of stock/special order?
Many thanks - Ian Northampton UK
Dear Ian
I am sorry but the Scolaro are a discontinued parasol line for us and we no longer have any in stock. They are no longer on our website so you may be looking at an old page.
We have replaced the Scolaro range with the Serengeti Cantilever range as we think that they are a better engineered product. However, the Serengeti parasol does not come in a 3x4m. Have a look at the Eclipse and the Equinox range in the following links to see the sizes: http://www.patio-umbrella.co.uk/productclass.php/class__all__All+Classes/brand__165__Serengeti
Regarding clearance, attached are some specifications for your patio door issue.
I can check stock once you have decided which size may be of interest to you. The Eclipse Sunbrella comes in a black and should be in stock. The Equinox comes in Natural or Ecru as standard - special order would be 3/4 weeks and there is a 15% surcharge.
Both parasols have an inground base or mobile base option. The mobile base is going to raise the parasol mast by the height of the base of course, but this may be insufficient for your purposes. The inground base is set in a concrete pit in the ground and the bottom of the parasol mast would be flush to the ground. On the Eclipse, it is possible to have a deckmount option so you could attach the parasol to the decking. The deckmount is the same price as the inground base. Please find attached image.
Let me know if you need any further information.
Best wishes
